Observations in late June indicate cold summer: cold wind with periodic snow predominated and a lot of ice was accumulated on sea along northern shore.

BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Breeding conditions:

Arctic Foxes did not breed. Solitary pairs of Arctic Skuas nested, and some tens of Pomorine Skuas remained on sea near shore and attacked fishing on ice-clearings Kittiwakes.
Among waders Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Dunlin, Western Sandpiper and Red-necked Phalarope were common, while Rock Sandpiper and Ruff - rare.
 

Rodent dynamics:

Lemmings were absent, but Root Voles were registered in small numbers near hut.
